Situation

Chevin Fleet Solutions was established in Derbyshire, England in 1990 and has quickly grown into a leading global provider of dedicated fleet management systems for all vehicle and transport operations. Bespoke software solutions from Chevin are used by over 500 businesses in more than 30 countries around the world, effectively managing fleets ranging from 20 to 20,000+ vehicles.

 

Task

Through creating the most flexible and adaptable windows-based management solution on the market (RoadBASE) and launching the world’s first web-based enterprise fleet management system (FleetWave), Chevin enjoyed almost two decades of continuous business growth, driven mainly by client referrals and word-of-mouth. Then, in 2009, the Company took the strategic decision to increase the levels of proactive marketing to promote its products and services to fleet managers and other key decision makers in its key markets of Europe, North America and Australasia.

 

bcsAgency was subsequently invited to present ideas on how Chevin could quickly raise its profile amongst its target audiences.

 

Action

The ideas presented by bcsAgency included a new advertising and direct mail strategy, extensive public relations activity and a focused social media push. Each component of the integrated marketing campaign was designed to be consistent in their delivery of Chevin’s key messages, but at the same time adjustable to the nuances of each geographical territory and market.

The strategic approach and hard-hitting creative concepts put forward by bcsAgency were embraced by Chevin and the “The big name in fleet management” campaign was born.

 

Result

Through highly distinctive print and online-media advertising, the Chevin brand is now synonymous with powerful and flexible fleet management solutions. As well as hard-hitting design, the distribution of regular and focused news releases, feature articles, opinion pieces and event support, as well as effective relationship building with key journalists, has led to Chevin now receiving regular and substantial on – and off-line media attention in key fleet management and business titles around the world. The Twitter component of the social media has also been highly successful, with a regular stream of value-adding tweets attracting new followers every day.
